ONNJ Interview With
Ken Rosato
Youth mental health is an issue that continues to take center stage, with more young people reporting feelings of anxiety, stress, and disconnection than ever before. Educators and families alike are searching for ways to better support students, not just academically, but emotionally and socially as well. One expert is reframing the conversation, focusing not just on challenges, but on building what she calls “mental wealth” through resilience.
Joining us now is Ms. Josephine Hunt, award-winning educator, NYU-trained leader, and founder of The Resilience Revolution™, to share how schools and families can work together to better prepare the next generation.

Shopping malls are seeing an unexpected resurgence, this time fueled by teens and tweens who are turning the once‑struggling retail hubs into their go‑to hangout spots.
Educators say the trend reflects what’s happening in schools. “You’re seeing a big push for social and emotional learning and teaching digital literacy,” said Josephine Hunt, a teacher and instructional coach at Northern Valley Curriculum Center. “That’s leading more teens to seek out real in‑person interaction, similar to previous generations.”
Hunt said the pattern feels familiar. “That’s actually my generation, too, and I used to really enjoy finding my friends and taking a bus over to the mall. It was a major social component of our generation — just walking around.”

What if Your Child Is The One Bullying? Your Child Needs Help and Attention
Date: March 12, 2026
Featured on Univision Atlanta, I had the opportunity to contribute to an important conversation on childhood behavior and bullying prevention. In this segment, I emphasize a foundational belief that guides my work, that behavior is communication. When children engage in hurtful actions, it is often a signal of unmet needs, emotional dysregulation, or underlying challenges that require understanding, not just correction. This piece highlights the critical role parents play in moving beyond surface-level discipline to deeper connection, guidance, and skill-building that fosters true resilience and positive behavior.

PEOPLE article Interview
May 15, 2026
Honored to contribute expert insight to this recent PEOPLE article discussing children, independence, parenting decisions, and air travel. As both an educator and parenting coach, I believe these conversations are about far more than airplane seating. They are about emotional readiness, resilience, regulation, confidence, and what I often refer to as building our children’s “mental wealth.” Resilience is not created through overexposure or “toughening children up.” It develops when children are gradually given opportunities to problem-solve, self-advocate, and navigate manageable challenges with appropriate support. Parenting through a resilience lens means balancing independence with emotional safety, developmental readiness, and thoughtful decision-making, rather than relying solely on age or convenience. Grateful to PEOPLE for including my perspective in this important conversation. Read the article here:
